A Minnesota woman has admitted responsibility for a devastating crash that left two beloved community members dead.
Teniki Steward, 40, pleaded guilty this week to two counts of third-degree murder and two counts of criminal vehicular operation in connection with a deadly Dec. 16, 2024 collision.
According to court documents, Steward was speeding in her Buick Enclave and ran two red lights before slamming into a Ford Explorer carrying 57-year-old Rose Reece and 53-year-old Esther Fulks.
Prosecutors say she narrowly avoided several other crashes before the fatal impact.
The force of the collision was so severe that the Ford Explorer was pushed into a nearby bus stop, where a 17-year-old boy was waiting for a ride to school. The teen and Steward’s male passenger were both injured and taken to the hospital.
Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said Steward “narrowly avoided multiple collisions before striking Rose and Esther’s vehicle,” underscoring how close the situation came to being even worse.
Reece and Fulks were more than just coworkers — they were best friends. Both women worked for the Cultural Wellness Center and were deeply involved in their Minneapolis community.
On the morning of the crash, they were on their way to visit another friend who had recently been diagnosed with cancer, according to Reece’s son, Drakarr Lobley.
In a tribute, Lobley described his mother as “a force of compassion and strength” who spent more than three decades serving others. He called her a beacon of hope and a symbol of selfless service.
Fulks’ daughter remembered her as a devoted mother of four who was deeply loved by everyone around her.
Steward entered what prosecutors described as a straight plea, meaning there was no negotiated sentence attached. She now faces sentencing on April 17.

Were the victims democrats??
I think they were so I know they wouldn’t want anything to happen to poor Teniki!!
I say let her go!!! Let her go, let her go!
lol 😂
Of course they were democrats, lived in Minnesota, active in the Cultural Wellness Center, typical liberals. Probably tried to help trash like Teniki, even though all that crap is in vain as these people dont want help.
