A violent domestic dispute in Alabama ended with a teenage boy knocking out his own father after authorities say the man attacked both the child and a woman inside their home.

Deputies with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in Foley on Monday, March 9, following reports of a heated argument that turned violent.

According to investigators, 32-year-old Daniel Hernandez-Lopez allegedly tried to strangle a woman during the confrontation.

At some point during the chaos, Hernandez-Lopez went outside — where he was confronted by his 13-year-old son.

Authorities say the situation quickly escalated.

The father allegedly lunged at the boy and attempted to strike him with a bicycle.

That’s when the teen fought back.

Investigators say the boy punched his father several times in the face, knocking him unconscious.

Deputies who responded to the scene reportedly believed Hernandez-Lopez appeared highly intoxicated at the time.

Hernandez-Lopez was arrested the following day, March 10, and taken to the Baldwin County Jail.

His booking photo reportedly shows him with a swollen face, bloody lips and visible injuries.

He is now facing a charge of domestic violence by strangulation.

As of now, it is unclear whether Hernandez-Lopez has hired an attorney to represent him.
