A horrifying discovery inside an abandoned home in Dallas has sparked a homicide investigation after a young woman’s body was reportedly found hidden inside a freezer.

According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to a call on the afternoon of May 10 after people reported finding a body at a vacant property on Georgia Avenue.

When first responders arrived, they discovered the body of a 27-year-old woman, later identified as Mariah Murray. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Local outlet Fox 4 reported that Murray’s body was allegedly found stuffed inside a freezer in the abandoned home. Authorities are now investigating the disturbing case as a homicide.

Police have not announced any suspects or arrests, and investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Murray’s devastated family later visited the scene and spoke out about the tragedy.

“All of these people around here, somebody who knows did it,” one of Murray’s cousins told reporters. “They know who did it.”

Another grieving family member described the 27-year-old as a “good spirit.”

Investigators have not released details about how long Murray may have been inside the home or what led to her death.
