A Florida woman has been sentenced to jail after authorities said she repeatedly stabbed her teenage sister during a violent fight that started over a cell phone.

Lynn My Le, 26, was sentenced to 180 days in jail and seven years of probation for the shocking October 2025 attack inside a home in Cutler Bay, Florida, according to reports from Local 10 and the Tampa Free Press.

Court records show the sentence was handed down on May 4.

Le was originally charged with second-degree attempted murder, but court records later showed she was convicted of aggravated battery resulting in bodily harm.

The disturbing case began on Oct. 26, 2025, when Le’s 15-year-old sister woke up on a couch and allegedly found Le going through her phone, according to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

The teen confronted her sister and tried to take the phone back.

That is when investigators said the argument turned horrifying.

Deputies said Le grabbed a knife and stabbed her younger sister about four times in the back as the teen tried to run toward the door.

After the girl collapsed, Le allegedly stabbed her roughly six more times, according to the report.

Authorities said the attack only stopped after the teen pleaded for her life.

When deputies arrived, they found the victim with at least 10 puncture wounds, according to reports at the time.

“The teen is critical, but stable,” Detective Samantha Choon said after the incident, according to the Miami Herald.

The case shocked many because of both the victim’s age and the brutal nature of the attack.

According to the Tampa Free Press, a judge issued a domestic violence stay-away order against Le. The outlet also reported that her original attempted murder charge was later dismissed.

Because Le was convicted on the lesser aggravated battery charge, her sentence leaned heavily toward probation instead of a longer prison term.

Le will now serve 180 days in jail, followed by seven years of probation.
