An Arizona mother killed her two children and then turned the gun on herself after allegedly sending their father chilling text messages saying she planned to hurt them, according to police.
Andrea Davis, 38, is accused of killing her 18-month-old and 10-year-old children, Andolan and Austin, inside the family’s Glendale home just after midnight Monday.
Police say the horror began late Sunday night at Tailgaters Bar in Glendale, where Davis allegedly opened fire on her husband while he was sitting in a car with another woman.
The husband survived the shooting.
But while officers were still at that scene, police say he began receiving terrifying messages from Davis.
“While our officers were on the scene, he was receiving text messages from his wife informing him that she was going to harm their children,” Glendale Police Department spokesperson Jose Santiago told reporters.
One of the messages allegedly included a photo showing that one of the children had already been hurt.
According to police, the image showed a child “bleeding from the head.”
Officers rushed to the family’s home. When they arrived, they found Davis dead inside, along with both children.
“This was really just a horrific situation,” Santiago said.
A longtime friend of Davis, Amy Bowers, told AZ Family that Davis and her husband had been together for 12 years before their relationship began falling apart last year.
Bowers claimed the collapse came after Davis allegedly discovered her husband had an inappropriate relationship with a co-worker.
“This relationship that’s been going on … has completely made her lose her mind,” Bowers alleged. “She hasn’t had an issue like this their whole marriage.”
Bowers said Davis had been struggling and asking people for help.
“She was just, she was not feeling good,” Bowers said. “And she’s been asking for help from everybody. Like it’s not been secret.”
According to Bowers, Davis was also worried that her husband might leave.
“She was like, ‘What am I supposed to do with the kids?’” Bowers said.
Then she turned her attention to the two children.
“I just feel really bad for the babies,” Bowers said. “I mean, they were really great kids. Really great kids.”
Police said there had been no prior domestic violence reports involving the family before the killings.
Authorities are still investigating what led up to the deadly violence.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Lorraine Fernandez urged people to speak up if they see warning signs in a troubled home or relationship.
“A lot of these times these incidents happen and there’s not a lot of information that gets reported to us, and then you have huge incidents that happens,” Fernandez said. “So, please, I beg of you, if you see something, please say something. We are here to help. We want to help.”
Fernandez said the deaths have devastated everyone involved in the investigation.
“Children are most innocent,” she said. “They’re what we show up for work to protect every day.”

Why would he be having an affair and also fathered a 10 month old baby, where it was obvious that the marriage was doomed.
Women are so close to being a head case under the best of circumstances. It doesn’t take much to push them over the edge. You NEVER kill yourself over a spouse or your boyfriend or girlfriend!
They simply aren’t worth it.
