A Minnesota pastor is facing serious criminal charges after police say a dispute over missing tools turned violent, leaving a man with multiple stab wounds.

Terrence Philip Walker Sr., 61, was charged following the June 25 incident in St. Paul, Minnesota, according to police.

Officers responded to reports of an assault and found the alleged victim suffering from stab wounds. Police say Walker fled the scene but was later found at a nearby church, where he was taken into custody.

According to court documents, the confrontation began when the alleged victim went to a residence to question Walker and his longtime girlfriend about tools he believed they were selling. The man reportedly wanted receipts for the items. Authorities have not accused Walker or his girlfriend of any crime related to the missing tools.

The alleged victim shares a child with Walker’s longtime girlfriend, adding another layer of tension to the confrontation.

A witness told investigators she heard what sounded like “slashing” during the fight. According to police accounts cited by local media, the witness also claimed Walker continued to attack the man even after he was bleeding on the ground. St. Paul police have not publicly confirmed those specific allegations.

Walker, however, reportedly told investigators that the other man attacked him first, forcing him to pull out a knife in self-defense.

According to Walker’s social media pages and the church’s Facebook account, he serves as the senior pastor at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Charging documents cited by local reports say the alleged victim was once a member of the same church.

Walker has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault. It is not yet clear whether he has entered a plea or hired an attorney to represent him.

The investigation remains ongoing.
