A disturbing discovery inside a San Diego home has left a neighborhood shaken after two adults and a child were found dead with apparent gunshot wounds.
The bodies were discovered Wednesday, Sept. 16, inside a house on Boulder Lake Avenue in the city’s Lake Murray neighborhood.
According to local reports, a concerned neighbor went to check on the family after hearing several “loud bangs” coming from the home the night before.
When she entered the residence, she reportedly found two adults dead in the same bedroom.
A child was found dead in another room.
The neighbor told police the three victims were a family and that the two adults were married.
San Diego Police are investigating the deaths as homicides and have also said a possible murder-suicide is among the scenarios being examined.
Authorities have not publicly identified the victims.
Investigators also have not said what may have led to the deadly incident.
The shocking case has drawn heavy police attention to the otherwise quiet residential area as detectives work to piece together what happened inside the home.
No suspects are currently being sought publicly, and police have not released information suggesting there is an ongoing threat to the surrounding neighborhood.
The investigation remains active.
