A 21-year-old woman faces a murder charge after she allegedly fatally stabbed her sister, claiming her sister had flirted with her long-distance boyfriend.

According to the criminal complaint, on Sept. 26 at 7:32 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to a home on Southern Charm Drive in Orlando when Fatiha Marzan called to report she stabbed her sister earlier that morning and did not think she was still alive. Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim, Sayma Marzan, dead at 7:49 p.m.

Deputies took Fatiha to the police station while detectives spoke with witnesses. Detectives learned that Fatiha was reportedly angry at Sayma because “Sayma was flirting and made advances towards Fatiha’s boyfriend.”

Fatiha and her boyfriend had been together for five years and were in a long-distance relationship.

The sisters reportedly shared a room and “would be able to see what each other was doing.”

According to the complaint, Sayma and Fatiha’s boyfriend played a video game called Valorant and communicated with each other through that system.

Fatiha reportedly believed Sayma “had been trying to steal her boyfriend for the past year,” but Fatiha’s boyfriend also allegedly flirted with Sayma.

The boyfriend reportedly told Sayma he loved her.

The statement said Fatiha “spoke with Sayma and her boyfriend on multiple occasions about how she felt about the relationship they had. Fatiha said Sayma never respected her feelings.”

Two weeks before the stabbing, Fatiha reportedly bought a dagger set on Amazon and hid the knives in a backpack in her closet.

The complaint alleges Fatiha “planned when she was going to kill her sister,” and she had to time it specifically because “based off her religion that her family would pray often and would stay up late.”

On Sept. 26 at 4:30 a.m., Fatiha allegedly took one of the daggers and stabbed Sayma in the heart. The sisters reportedly shared a bed, and Sayma woke up to Fatiha attacking her.

Fatiha reportedly told investigators she killed her sister because “she could no longer deal with the relationship Sayma had with her boyfriend.”

Fatiha allegedly “contemplated taking her own life but a sibling stopped her by talking her out of it.”

Orange County Jail records show she was booked on a charge of first-degree murder with a weapon and is being held without bond.
