On Saturday April 13, 2024, a substitute teacher was arrested after allegedly being found undressed in the backseat of a car with a male 17-year-old student. This occurred in Lincoln, Nebraska at around 3 a.m. The alleged victim ran away from the scene in the nude.
The teacher in question was identified by authorities as Erin Ward. Ward is 45 years old and married. She is facing charges felony sexual abuse by a school employee.
This all began because Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies received a tip about a car parked on a dead-end street, according to KLKN-TV. When police showed up to investigate, they say they found two individuals in the back seat of a Gray 2015 Honda Pilot SUV. The 17-year-old student got spooked and attempted to drive away but instead crashed the car a couple of blocks away from the original scene.
The alleged victim fled the crash scene naked. An hour later, police were able to connect with him. He had underwear on at this point. Ward remained at the scene. When police searched the vehicle they reportedly found her Omaha Public Schools employee ID.
Ward allegedly confessed to having sex with a 17-year-old male student from Omaha Burke High School. Both she and the victim were treated for mild injuries from the crash. The investigation is still ongoing.
The morality today is light-years different then when I was
in school back in the 60s.
This did not happen in Lincoln ne. but in Omaha!
He could take the rap. Say he kidnapped her and held her against her will then tried to flee. He is still a minor so he wouldn’t get in as much trouble as she would I would guess.
True, minors receive less punishment than adults, which is not as it should be. Minor or adult, male or female, the punishment should be the same for all… and it should fit the crime. But why should the victim take the rap when/if it is clearly not his fault?
I cannot conceive of any situation where it is appropriate to punish the innocent in place of the actual criminal.
That’s just disgusting. They need to lock her up like they would a man. I hope she gets many years the pig.
