A Wyoming teenager will spend decades in prison for his role in the brutal killing of a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed to death while defending his girlfriend in front of horrified onlookers.
On Friday, 16-year-old Dominique Antonio Richard Harris pleaded guilty in Natrona County District Court to one count of conspiracy to commit second-degree murder in the April 2024 slaying of Bobby Maher Jr. Harris had originally faced a conspiracy to commit first-degree murder charge, but prosecutors struck a deal to reduce the charge and drop additional counts of aggravated assault and theft, according to Cowboy State Daily.
District Attorney Dan Itzen said his office will seek a sentence of 30 to 75 years behind bars. Harris’ co-defendant, 16-year-old Jarreth Joseflee Sebastian Plunkett, already pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in May and received a life sentence. Under Wyoming law, minors convicted of murder can still seek parole after 25 years.
Prosecutors said the violence stemmed from a prior confrontation at a local park between Maher and the two defendants. Just days before the murder, Plunkett reportedly warned Maher’s friend that he “wanted to pay Bobby’s blood debt.”
On the day of the attack, Harris and Plunkett stole knives after playing hide-and-seek inside a Best Buy at Eastridge Mall in Casper. When they later spotted Maher’s girlfriend, they began following her. Soon after, they encountered Maher outside a DICK’s Sporting Goods store, where a heated argument drew a large crowd.
Cellphone video played in court showed Harris grabbing Maher, lifting him off the ground, and slamming him to the pavement. Harris then held the teen down as Plunkett lunged in with a knife, stabbing Maher twice in the chest. Witnesses said Maher staggered to his feet, tried to walk toward the mall, and collapsed shortly after. He died from his injuries.
Harris admitted to restraining Maher during the deadly assault but claimed he was “just trying to make sure the fight was over.”
Judge Kerri Johnson ordered a pre-sentence investigation, with Harris’ formal sentencing scheduled for Sept. 5.

Of note that only the photo of the Anglo victim was shown, but digging a bit and found the reason that The Daily Crime didn’t post photos of the convicted assailants; totally predictable.
Once again confirming the studies/theories of Dr. Albert Schweitzer and Charles Darwin were spot-on!
