An Ohio daycare worker has been arrested after allegedly binding a 1-year-old girl with painter’s tape and leaving her face down under a blanket, according to police.
Authorities say 23-year-old Katelyn Strohacker is facing a charge of child endangerment following the disturbing July 21 incident at Over the Rainbow Children’s Center in Pataskala.
According to a criminal complaint filed last week, Strohacker allegedly wrapped painter’s tape around the toddler’s eyes, tied her hands behind her back, and taped her feet together before placing her face down on a bed and leaving her unattended under a blanket.
The investigation began after the girl’s mother contacted police on Aug. 7, saying the daycare director, Jamie Schoelkopf, had informed her of the incident. The mother claimed her daughter had been left taped and restrained for nearly an hour.
In a chilling twist, investigators say Strohacker admitted during questioning that she had done this more than once as a form of “discipline.”
Strohacker was arrested and later released on a $50,000 bond. She is prohibited from having any unsupervised contact with minors and is set to appear at a preliminary hearing on Aug. 28.
The daycare released a statement saying safety is its “top priority,” confirming that both Strohacker and a supervisor have been terminated following the allegations.

If they would start punishing these child abusers in the same manner that they abused those babies, then maybe some of this abuse would stop. Bind her hands, feet, eyes, and MOUTH and slap her down on the floor with a blanket over her. Leave her a day or so. The punishment should be always for the crime!
