A 20-year-old Nevada woman with a reported obsession with guns is accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend while he was taking photos of her posing with a firearm, according to police.

Authorities say Allysandra Blea was arrested last week and charged with open murder in the death of 23-year-old Mark Gaughan, who was killed during what was supposed to be a late-night photo shoot.

The shooting happened around 4:47 a.m. on August 23 in the 1000 block of Nassau Drive in Las Vegas, according to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Blea herself called 911, claiming the shooting was “accidental,” Las Vegas CBS affiliate KLAS reported.

First responders arrived to find Gaughan lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the neck. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to detectives, Gaughan had been taking photos of Blea posing with a firearm by a vehicle when the gun went off, striking him. Investigators later discovered Polaroid photos from the scene, one showing Blea lying back on another woman’s lap, holding a black gun pointed at her mouth with her finger on the trigger. Another image allegedly showed her again with her finger on the trigger.

A second woman who was present told police that Blea had been sitting on her lap as Gaughan snapped pictures when she suddenly heard a gunshot. She said she didn’t see Blea pull the trigger but witnessed the moment the gun went off.

Detectives also uncovered disturbing social media posts that appear to show Blea’s fascination with firearms. According to a probable cause affidavit, Blea frequently posted about “her love of shooting guns, owning guns, building her arsenal, and shooting people in the face.” One chilling online comment allegedly read, “I wish I could shoot people with real guns and get away with it.”

Blea made her first appearance in Las Vegas Justice Court on Tuesday, where a judge denied her request for bond.
