Two brothers stand accused of murdering a Lyft driver in Louisiana and then stealing her vehicle in a brazen escape attempt, according to law enforcement sources.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office says 23‑year-old Ethan Bush and his 26‑year‑old brother Tristan Bush were found in Harris County, Texas, after the fatal incident. In the chaotic aftermath, Ethan died while trying to evade arrest.
The investigation began Friday when deputies in Louisiana responded to a call about a woman’s body discovered in a ditch. She had multiple gunshot wounds, and was later identified as 62‑year‑old Lawanna J. Lewis. Authorities say she was working as a Lyft driver at the time.
Hours after the murder, the brothers were spotted driving the victim’s car in the Houston area, triggering a high‑speed pursuit by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
