New details have emerged in the case of a fatal Houston crash that left 33-year-old Joseph McMullin dead — and now, his family’s wrongful death lawsuit claims more people are to blame than just the alleged drunk driver behind the wheel.
According to the lawsuit, the Porsche that 34-year-old driver Kristina Chambers was speeding in the night of the crash had been purchased by her ex-husband, Xuan Si, a wealthy portfolio manager. The suit alleges Si bought the luxury car for Chambers “despite knowing she was an unfit driver” who struggled with alcohol abuse.
Chambers is facing criminal charges of intoxicated manslaughter for the April 2023 crash that killed McMullin, a popular Houston bartender and musician. Prosecutors say Chambers had spent the night bar-hopping — visiting Lola’s Depot, The Eagle Houston, The Ripcord, and JR’s Bar & Grill — before getting behind the wheel. All four bars are now named in the family’s lawsuit, which accuses them of overserving Chambers before the deadly collision.
Investigators say Chambers was driving her Porsche at more than 100 mph along Westheimer Road in the Montrose neighborhood when she lost control and slammed into McMullin and his date, Briana Iturrino, as they were walking to grab a late-night snack at Voodoo Doughnut.
“I thought he had gotten out of the way because I couldn’t find him,” Iturrino testified in court last week, recalling the horrifying moment McMullin was thrown more than 30 feet by the impact.
Surveillance footage reportedly shows Chambers’ car hurtling down the street before striking McMullin, launching him into the air, and then crashing into a pole. Investigators later found cocaine and other drugs inside the Porsche.
McMullin was pronounced dead at the scene. Chambers and her two passengers were hospitalized before her arrest.
“This was an unspeakable tragedy that could have been prevented by any number of factors that evening,” said attorney Jesus Garcia Jr., who represents McMullin’s family. “While the grief of the McMullin family will never subside, we must hold all responsible parties accountable to ensure something like this never happens again.”

Something very fishy
Only a judge would believe that nonsense!!
