A Miami man is facing murder charges after allegedly pushing a woman to her death from a train platform — and authorities say there was no apparent reason for the attack.

Jorge Gomez, 45, was booked into Miami-Dade County Jail Thursday and charged with second-degree murder, according to court records. The fatal incident reportedly took place days earlier.

On Nov. 14, around 12:30 p.m., Gomez and 32-year-old Kanisa Love were both at the Dadeland North Metrorail Station. Police say Gomez approached Love, who was stepping back from him, and suddenly shoved her off the elevated platform. Video shows the platform sits dozens of feet above the ground.

“He pushed the victim off the Metrorail platform resulting in her death,” a prosecutor said during Gomez’s court appearance Friday, according to NBC Miami.

Judge Mindy Glazer described the attack as chilling: “He killed a 32-year-old lady standing on a Metrorail station, pushed her off. You see it all.” Authorities confirmed Love died from blunt force trauma to her head.

Gomez, who has a criminal record dating back to 2014, was ordered to be held without bond. Police are continuing their investigation into the shocking attack.

  1. Give him the Death Penalty. He is of no good to society! He’ll only get out and do it again. Why feed and cloth this murderer on the tax payers money…..
