A tragic shooting at a popular Illinois restaurant left two people dead and another in critical condition over the weekend. Aurora police say they responded to a flurry of 911 calls around 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, after reports of gunfire at Two Brothers Roundhouse.
When officers arrived, they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. One of them — believed to be the shooter — died at the scene. The other two, a man and a woman, were rushed to a nearby hospital. The woman later died from her injuries, and the man remains in critical condition.
According to the Aurora Police Department, early evidence suggests all three individuals knew each other, and investigators believe the shooting was connected to a domestic violence situation. Autopsies will be handled by the Kane County Coroner’s Office, which plans to confirm the identities of the victim and the shooter and release their names once the families are notified.
Aurora Police Chief Matt Thomas expressed heartbreak over the violence, saying the entire community is feeling the impact. “Members of our community were senselessly shot while simply trying to enjoy a night out,” he said, adding that the department is committed to getting answers for the victims’ families.
Witnesses told CBS News the shooting took place while the band Beyond the Blonde was performing, sending diners running for safety. The band later shared a statement on Facebook, saying they’re still shaken by what happened. They described the night as terrifying and heartbreaking, and urged people to hold their loved ones close.
