Two former Amazon delivery drivers have pleaded guilty after authorities say they stole tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of packages instead of delivering them to customers.
Brandon and Madison Kelderman each admitted guilt to one count of first-degree theft, a Class C felony, after changing their pleas on Friday, Jan. 30, according to court records cited by local outlet WHO 13. The couple had previously pleaded not guilty after turning themselves in at Iowa’s Polk County Jail in October.
Investigators say the Keldermans were working as Flex delivery drivers for Amazon when they kept packages they were assigned to deliver, racking up nearly $58,000 in stolen goods.
According to police, the thefts occurred over a roughly two-week period, from Aug. 22 to Sept. 7, 2025. The scheme came to light after Amazon flagged a pattern of missing deliveries and alerted law enforcement, local outlet KCCI previously reported.
“We were alerted to this through loss prevention at Amazon,” Sgt. Trevor McGraw of the Ankeny Police Department said at the time. “They contacted us and filed a theft report. Essentially, they noticed that several packages had gone missing. They provided the suspect information.”
The Keldermans now face serious consequences. If convicted, each could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and fined as much as $13,660, according to WHO 13.
Authorities have not released additional details about sentencing timelines. Police and court officials have been contacted for further comment as the case moves forward.
