A man accused of setting multiple fires across Los Angeles is now facing serious felony charges after what officials are calling a dangerous pattern of arson.

Prosecutors say 48-year-old Cyrus Farsaad was arrested and charged in connection with three separate fires earlier this month—two in downtown L.A.’s Fashion District and one at a strip club in the San Fernando Valley.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the incidents began on March 2, when Farsaad allegedly set fire to an electrical vault inside a warehouse. That fire burned out on its own.

But investigators say he didn’t stop there.

Authorities allege Farsaad returned to the same location on March 8 and set another fire in the same area. This time, the flames spread, though no major damage or injuries were reported.

In between those incidents, on March 5, prosecutors say he targeted a gentlemen’s club in Canoga Park. That fire caused significant smoke and heat damage to the building, though no one was hurt.

Officials have labeled Farsaad a “serial arsonist,” warning that this type of behavior puts entire communities at risk.

He has been charged with multiple felony counts, including arson of property and arson of structures. He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment.

If convicted, he could face more than 14 years in prison.

Farsaad is currently being held in a Los Angeles jail on $200,000 bail as the case moves forward. His next court appearance is scheduled for early April.

Authorities praised the quick work of firefighters and police in tracking him down, emphasizing that arson is far more than property damage.

“It’s a direct threat to lives,” officials said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
