A chilling case out of Illinois has left an entire community stunned after a mother was arrested in connection with a brutal triple homicide.

Jenna Strouble, 30, of St. John, is facing nine counts of first-degree murder after authorities say she killed the father of her children and his parents in a targeted attack.

The violence unfolded early Monday morning in Unincorporated Crete, when deputies with the Will County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check around 2 a.m., requested by a concerned family member.

What they found inside was devastating.

Three people were dead.

Officials identified the victims as 32-year-old Jacob Lambert and his parents, 54-year-old Stacy Forde and 55-year-old Patrick Forde. According to investigators, Lambert was found inside a car in the driveway, while his parents were discovered inside the home near the front door.

Authorities say the case quickly took a turn.

During interviews, Strouble allegedly made incriminating statements, and investigators recovered a firearm they believe was used in the killings.

“This was a targeted incident,” officials said, pointing to early evidence gathered during the investigation.

Police say Strouble and Lambert had an on-and-off relationship and shared children together—adding another layer of heartbreak to the case.

After the killings, investigators allege Strouble fled the scene and returned to her home in St. John, Indiana, about eight miles away. She was later taken into custody there with assistance from local law enforcement.

She is currently being held in Indiana and is expected to be extradited back to Illinois to face charges.

Authorities have not yet revealed a motive.

As the investigation continues, the case is raising troubling questions about what led to such a violent and personal tragedy—and how it all escalated to this point.
