A Massachusetts law enforcement officer is at the center of a disturbing case that has sparked outrage across multiple communities.

Richard Kielczweski, a 41-year-old deputy with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, was arrested Friday night on a series of serious allegations, including rape, trafficking, and creating child pornography involving a teenage boy.

Authorities say the accusations involve a 15-year-old victim and span several towns in Massachusetts, including Hanson, Halifax, and Middleborough.

According to the Halifax Police Department, the case followed an extensive investigation led by Detective Cushman, who worked to uncover incidents connected to the allegations in Halifax. His findings ultimately led to an arrest warrant for Kielczweski.

The suspect was taken into custody with assistance from police in Hanson and Middleborough.

The list of charges is extensive and varies by location. In Hanson, Kielczweski is accused of multiple counts, including paying for sexual conduct with a minor, aggravated rape of a child due to a significant age difference, rape by force, trafficking a minor for sexual servitude, and involving a child in sexual acts.

In Middleborough, he faces additional charges including witness intimidation and enticing a child under 16. Meanwhile, in Halifax, authorities have charged him with multiple counts of rape of a child, paying for sexual conduct with a minor, and trafficking.

The sheriff’s department described the allegations as “extremely serious and deeply disturbing,” confirming that Kielczweski has been indefinitely suspended from his position.

He had been employed by the department since 2015, working as a correctional officer before continuing in his role as a deputy as of February. Notably, he had also received recognition for his community involvement, including the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal through the Marine Corps Toys for Tots for his work during the 2024 holiday season in the Boston area.
