A quiet Kentucky community was rocked by violence after a teenager allegedly walked into a bank, opened fire, and then led police on a high-speed chase before being taken into custody.
Authorities say 18-year-old Brailen Weaver has been charged with armed bank robbery, using a firearm during a violent crime, and causing death with a firearm.
According to investigators, the incident unfolded on April 30 at a U.S. Bank in Berea, where Weaver allegedly entered the building wearing a mask around 1:57 p.m.
Inside the bank, authorities say he shot and killed two employees — 42-year-old Brian Switzer and 35-year-old Breanna Edwards — before searching through drawers and quickly fleeing the scene.
The violence didn’t end there.
Investigators say Weaver later posted on social media that evening, sharing an image of a person in an alien mask holding cash alongside the phrase “I pledge allegiance to da bag.”
Law enforcement soon identified a silver BMW believed to be connected to the suspect and located it on Interstate 75 later that night.
What followed was a dangerous pursuit involving multiple agencies, with authorities saying the chase reached speeds of up to 130 miles per hour.
According to officials, Weaver eventually crashed the vehicle and tried to escape on foot before being captured around 3:00 a.m. on May 1.
Federal officials condemned the attack, calling it a senseless act that has left families devastated.
Switzer, one of the victims, was a husband and father of three, described by loved ones as the sole provider for his family. Edwards was remembered as a “beautiful soul” whose loss has left her family heartbroken.
Weaver is expected to appear in court on May 4 as the investigation continues, involving the FBI, ATF, Kentucky State Police, and local law enforcement.
The shocking case has left the community reeling, as loved ones mourn two lives lost in a tragedy that unfolded in broad daylight.

Give that teen the death penalty. He murdered two people. No life sentence for that piece of crap!
