A camping trip in the mountains of Washington state turned violent after a woman allegedly stabbed her husband inside their RV at a remote campground.
Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office responded to the disturbing scene around 8:25 p.m. on April 9 after receiving a frantic 911 call from a woman staying at Ranger Creek Campground near Crystal Mountain.
According to authorities, the woman allegedly admitted during the call that she stabbed her husband after he “came after her.”
Officials said she remained on the phone with dispatchers while giving detailed directions to the isolated campsite near Alta Crystal Resort so first responders could find them.
Because of the campground’s remote mountain location, deputies reportedly needed more than 30 minutes to reach the couple.
When authorities finally arrived, they found a 48-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Emergency crews quickly airlifted him to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
Investigators say the shocking confrontation may have started over kittens inside the trailer.
According to detectives, the man allegedly threw kittens out of the RV before an argument escalated violently.
Police claim the woman then grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him multiple times.
The woman was arrested at the scene and booked on a charge of first-degree domestic violence assault.
Ranger Creek Campground is known as a peaceful getaway popular with hikers and campers thanks to its scenic mountain views and wildlife sightings, including deer and elk.
Now, the quiet outdoor destination has become the center of a disturbing criminal investigation.
Authorities have not publicly released additional details about the couple or what exactly led up to the stabbing. The investigation remains ongoing.

Shouldn’t have thrown kittens out of the RV. Obviously, one of you took them in.
