A Minnesota mother was allegedly shot in the neck after a minor car accident spiraled into a terrifying road rage attack — all while her 5-year-old daughter sat inside the vehicle.
Authorities say 38-year-old Cordaryle Frank-Allen Frost is now behind bars facing serious felony charges, including first-degree assault causing great bodily harm and drive-by shooting.
According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, another suspect, 37-year-old Cynthia Victoria Frost, was also arrested following the shocking incident.
The violence reportedly began after a woman attended a prom send-off party in Columbia Heights with her young daughter.
As the pair were leaving the party, the woman’s SUV allegedly made slight contact with a parked vehicle.
But what could have ended as a simple fender bender quickly turned into a nightmare.
According to investigators, Cordaryle Frost and his wife allegedly jumped into their vehicle and began chasing the mother down the road.
About a block away, the suspects reportedly used their vehicle in what the victim described as “something similar to a PIT maneuver,” forcing her to pull over.
Authorities say the couple got out of their car and allegedly threatened to “beat her.”
The terrified mother drove away, but investigators say the suspects caught back up to her moments later.
Then came the gunshot.
The woman reportedly told police she suddenly heard a loud bang before instantly losing control of her body.
Authorities said she had been shot in the neck, causing her SUV to veer across the roadway before stopping in a grassy area near 53rd Avenue Northeast and University Avenue Northeast in Fridley.
Her terrified 5-year-old daughter reportedly climbed out of the vehicle and began running around desperately asking people for help.
The mother suffered a spinal cord injury and was rushed into surgery, where doctors removed bullet fragments from her neck.
Officials have not yet revealed the full extent of her injuries.
Cordaryle Frost was arrested Monday and allegedly denied any involvement in the shooting.
Jail records show Cynthia Frost was also charged in connection to the attack but was later released from custody Wednesday.
Cordaryle Frost remains jailed on $2 million bail.
