An Arizona man is accused of launching a terrifying knife attack on his own mother while she slept in a recliner, allegedly telling police he was angry because she did not respond the way he wanted when he opened up about his problems.
George Randall, 25, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault after the shocking attack inside a Chandler home early Friday morning.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime, Randall’s mother woke up to him allegedly cutting her with a steak knife.
“He’s stabbing me!” she screamed, according to the affidavit.
Moments later, she yelled, “He is killing me!” alerting Randall’s father, brother, and sister, who were also inside the home at the time.
Police say Randall’s mother survived the attack, but the allegations against him are deeply disturbing.
Investigators said Randall later admitted that he had been thinking about stabbing his mother for several weeks before the attack.
Family members reportedly told police that Randall had never had a violent outburst like this before, but said he had recently been acting strangely.
According to the affidavit, Randall had lost his job a few months earlier and had also been dealing with an injury from working out. His family said those setbacks seemed to affect his mood, leaving him more withdrawn and isolated.
The day before the stabbing, relatives claimed Randall had what they described as a “schizo or manic episode.” They told police he appeared to be speaking and responding to a voice that was not there, paced frantically around the house, stripped down to his boxers, and later lay down in a hallway.
Then, around 3 a.m. the next morning, Randall allegedly asked his mother if they could talk.
According to police, Randall said he wanted to tell her about the things he had been struggling with, including issues he had been hiding from the family. For several minutes, he reportedly poured out his emotions to her.
But when his mother did not react the way he expected, Randall allegedly became furious.
Police said he told investigators that it upset him because she “did not seem to care about him or his feelings.” He allegedly described her as “narcissistic” and said she did not console him or give him the care he believed he deserved.
Authorities say his mother eventually fell asleep beside him on the recliner.
That is when Randall allegedly walked into the kitchen, grabbed a red-handled steak knife from a drawer, returned to the living room, and attacked her.
According to the affidavit, Randall allegedly stabbed and scratched the right side of his mother’s neck while she slept. Police said he later admitted he targeted her neck because he wanted to wound vital arteries.
His mother woke up during the attack and began screaming for help.
Randall’s father confronted him after the stabbing, and the family called police.
After he was taken into custody, Randall allegedly told officers, “She loved me and I stabbed her.”
Investigators also said Randall initially claimed a demon named “Barricles” told him to carry out the attack. But when questioned further, he allegedly admitted he made that up because he thought it might get him placed in a psychiatric ward.
Police said Randall stated that he understood stabbing his mother was illegal and wrong. According to the affidavit, he allegedly said he wanted her to die and did not feel remorse.
Randall also allegedly told investigators he was surprised by how easy the attack felt and how little guilt he experienced afterward.
The affidavit described the attack as completely unprovoked, noting that there was no argument, fight, or conflict immediately before the stabbing.
“The victim posed no threat to George,” the affidavit said. “She was asleep.”
Randall is being held on a $1 million cash-only bond and is expected back in court later this month.

Make Asylums Great Again
This is the problem with these young men who are too self absorbed about their own problems and feel like everyone ows them something. His mother didn’t respond to him by babying him and probably told him to put on his big boy pants and get a life. Now he can sit on prison and think about how fucked up his life really is now. They need to kick his ass out of rhe house so he can grow up
