A Missouri man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after being convicted of murdering his mother in a horrifying 2018 case.

Trevor John Huber was found guilty of murder on Tuesday, May 19, after a bench trial in Dunklin County, according to online court records.

The case dates back to December 2018, when Huber called 911 and reportedly sounded confused.

When police arrived at the home, Huber allegedly answered the door naked, according to a probable cause affidavit cited by KAIT.

Inside, officers found his 63-year-old mother, Charlotte Wilson, dead. Authorities said she had been decapitated.

Huber was arrested after the gruesome discovery.

Investigators said he admitted to using methamphetamine, and during an interview with deputies, he reportedly said he was worried that he had killed his mother.

According to KAIT, Huber then wrote the words “I killed my mother” on a piece of paper before tearing it up and swallowing it.

Following the conviction, Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Nicholas Jain thanked investigators for their work on the disturbing case.

“I want to thank the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol for their professional and diligent work in investigating and solving this homicide and in all the cases they handle,” Jain said, according to KAIT.

Huber will now spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The case remains one of the most disturbing crimes in the county, ending years later with a conviction and a life sentence.
