Bodybuilder Killed by Jealous Wife After She Accused Him of Having Affair

A shocking murder in Brazil has left the bodybuilding world stunned after a champion athlete was brutally stabbed to death by his wife in what police describe as a jealous rage.

Valter de Vargas Aita, 41, a well-known bodybuilder and personal trainer, was killed on September 7 inside his home in Chapeco after a vicious fight with his wife, Andrea Carvalho Aita. Authorities say she stabbed him 21 times with a kitchen knife, striking his jugular, head, torso, arms, and legs.

Blood was found spattered throughout the apartment and smeared along the stairwell, where Valter had fled in a desperate attempt to escape before collapsing and dying. Witnesses recalled hearing him cry out, “My God, why are you doing this?” as the attack unfolded.

Investigators revealed that Carvalho had become consumed with paranoia, believing her husband was cheating. Police said she stalked him for months, drilling holes in their apartment walls to spy on him, photographing him as he slept, and sending threatening messages with knife emojis. Audio recordings captured her vowing that Valter would “pay” for his alleged infidelity, while he confided that he felt he could no longer live under the constant threat of being stabbed.

On the night of the killing, forensic evidence indicates Valter was first stabbed in his sleep before attempting to crawl to safety. Despite Carvalho later claiming she only stabbed him three times in self-defense, police reports and forensic findings tell a much darker story.

The couple, who married in 2021, had a history of heated arguments, some tied to Carvalho’s religious practices. It was also revealed that she was already wanted in another state over an armed attempted robbery case carrying a 15-year sentence. She is now formally charged with homicide and remains in custody.

Valter was a five-time state bodybuilding champion, a runner-up in the World Fitness Federation, and a beloved personal trainer with thousands of online followers. His death has left both the fitness community and his family devastated.
