A California man is calling his two children heroes after they reportedly helped save his life during a terrifying road-rage attack earlier this month.
Chris Davison, 38, is recovering from multiple stab wounds after the incident on October 17, his family shared in a GoFundMe. He was on his way to a Halloween festival in Ramona, Calif., with his 6-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son when the terrifying encounter happened.
Davison says a black pickup truck began tailgating him for miles and swerved him off the road twice. When he got out to confront the driver, Noah Kane allegedly attacked him with a knife, stabbing him multiple times while showing “a demonic stare,” Davison told local outlet 10 News.
In the chaos, Davison’s children sprang into action despite their fear. His son used a dinosaur sticker and a phone charger cord to help stop the bleeding, while his daughter, in a princess dress, pleaded for help. They even tore off their sweaters to apply pressure to his wounds.
“My son screaming, ‘Stay awake, dad. Stay awake,’” Davison recalled. A family friend who was nearby on a motorcycle also rushed to help, calling 911 and cleaning the blood off Davison’s phone.
Noah Kane was arrested in connection with the attack and has pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted murder, the California Highway Patrol confirmed. Davison was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and is now recovering at home.
Davison praised his children and his friend for their quick thinking. “They’re my heroes,” he said, highlighting their bravery in a life-threatening situation.
