A 13-year-old schoolboy from Egypt, has been arrested after killing his classmate and consuming part of the victim’s body “out of curiosity”, reports said.
Local media reports said the suspect allegedly beat his classmate to death with a wooden stick before dismembering the body using an electric saw.
The teenager is understood to have lured the victim to his home prior to the attack. Parts of the victim’s remains were later discovered near a shopping center, under a bridge, and in an open area.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to eating a portion of the victim’s flesh, claiming it tasted ‘similar to seasoned fried chicken’.
Police said he claimed to have been influenced by violent films and video games.
The boy was asked to reenact his actions to assist in the investigation, and psychological and toxicology tests have been ordered.
The victim was laid to rest following funeral prayers at Al-Matafi Mosque in Egypt, the service was attended by hundreds of residents who expressed grief and anger over such a horrifying incident.
“A 13-year-old schoolboy from Egypt” ?? Did the author mean a 13 year-old boy in Egypt, or a 13 yea-old boy in America “from Egypt”? I’m somewhat confused about the terminology used. Since the victim was laid to rest in Egypt, I’m guessing the episode took place in Egypt. Poor choice of words.
