A heartbreaking and deeply disturbing case out of the U.K. has left a family shattered—and searching for answers that may never come.
Allison Owen delivered an emotional victim impact statement in court, revealing the devastating toll of losing both her partner and her son in one unthinkable act. “I have lost everything I hold dear to me,” she said, mourning 57-year-old Christopher Owen, who was brutally killed inside their home.
The man responsible? Her own son, Logan Procter.
Police from Derbyshire Constabulary responded to the home just after 8 p.m. on October 22, 2025, where they discovered a scene that investigators described as horrific. Christopher Owen had been stabbed more than 70 times, with the majority of injuries concentrated to his head, face, and neck.
The violence didn’t stop there.
The family’s dog was also found dead, having suffered multiple stab wounds. Authorities later revealed that Procter admitted to attacking the animal after it wouldn’t stop crying during the assault.
Even more chilling, prosecutors told the court that Procter had created multiple “kill lists” prior to the attack—lists that included his own mother, stepfather, coworkers, and others in his life.
According to investigators, the attack lasted several minutes and was carried out with such force that Procter had to switch weapons midway through. Despite the brutality, Christopher did not die immediately, making the ordeal even more harrowing.
After the attack, Procter reportedly took a shower, changed clothes, and then called police to confess.
In court, he pleaded guilty and was ultimately sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 20 years.
Authorities say he has since been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, a mood disorder, and a borderline learning disability—but one question still lingers: why?
Detective Inspector Kane Martin, who led the investigation, said the victim was completely innocent and emphasized that no clear motive has ever been given. “What they will never know is why,” he said, noting that the attack appeared to be planned and carried out in an extremely violent manner.
For Allison, the pain is almost unimaginable. Not only has she lost her partner, but she now faces life knowing her own son was responsible—and she says he had never shown signs of violence before.
“Chris was kind, protective, loyal and truly a beautiful gentleman,” she said. “We should have had so many more years together.”
