A disturbing case out of Miami has left many shocked after a mother was arrested for allegedly attacking her own child during a heated confrontation.
According to police, 32-year-old Lucianny Lizbeth Luna is facing a child abuse charge after her 12-year-old son reported the incident to school officials. Authorities say the boy showed up with visible injuries, prompting both police and child protective services to step in.
When officers arrived, they documented injuries to the child’s face, including bruising and cuts near his eye. The boy told investigators the violence began the day before while his mother was driving him to a park.
During the ride, the child said he overheard his mother speaking on the phone with someone he believed she was involved with romantically. When he corrected something she said during the call, things allegedly turned physical.
Police say Luna slapped him in the face, grabbed his hair, and repeatedly struck him in the back of the head with a small glass bottle. The boy later told officers he was left stunned and frozen after the attack.
But it didn’t end there.
As they got closer to home, the child claimed his mother tried to stab him with her keys, leaving a cut on his hand as he tried to block the strike.
Once inside the house, the situation reportedly escalated again. The boy told his stepfather what had happened, but while recounting the story, Luna allegedly struck him in the face once more and slammed him against a wall. He tried to run, but she reportedly grabbed him before he could escape.
According to the report, the child eventually managed to break free and lock himself in his room. From outside the door, he says his mother yelled threats, including telling him she wanted to kill him.
Terrified, the boy contacted his aunt over video, showing her his injuries and asking for help. Police say the aunt later confirmed what she saw, including the visible damage to his face.
Investigators noted additional injuries, including bruising on his back and around his eye. The boy reportedly told authorities he was too scared to call 911 himself.
When questioned, Luna admitted to hitting her son but claimed she only struck him on the back and did not recall how many times. She denied hitting him in the face.
She was arrested and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center before later posting a $5,000 bond. As of now, no court date has been publicly listed.
